Treating Misalignment With Discreet Invisalign® Aligners

When you have crooked teeth, or if the teeth in your smile crowd one another or overlap, this misalignment could mean poor oral health. To improve your oral health, and also boost the beauty of your smile, then you may need treatment with clear Invisalign® aligners. In today’s blog, your Newhall, CA, dentist will talk about the treatment process!

Starting Your Journey

Everything starts with an initial consultation. We want to talk about the goals for your smile, and to also assess the cause and extent of your misalignment. To obtain a diagnosis with precision and accuracy, we will use digital technology. From there, we can decide if you will benefit from treatment with Invisalign®. If so, then a series of custom-made aligners will be crafted specifically for your smile.

Creating Clear Aligners

The digital images of take of your smile will be combined to create a 3D model. The model enables a special lab to create aligners that fit your smile and gradually and gently correct the position of your teeth. When they’re complete, you will begin the treatment process!

The Treatment Process

Each day, you will need to wear a set for about 20 to 22 hours, depending on the dentist’s recommendations. After about two weeks, you will move on the next set in the series. With each set, your smile is straightened. The total treatment time will depend on the severity of your misalignment, and whether you wear these aligners as we instructed. On average, teens need up to 18 months, while adults could see optimal results in as little as one year. They will help you avoid the gum and cheek irritation often encountered with braces, and you also require fewer office visits.

Can I Ever Remove Them?

Aside from their near-invisible appearance, another major benefit is the fact that each set is removable. You actually take out your orthodontics before each meal, so no need to avoid foods or worry about them becoming stuck in your orthodontics. Being removable also means taking them out before you brush and floss your teeth, making daily care much easier and limiting the risk of stained teeth, tooth decay, or poor periodontal health during treatment. If you would like to learn about this system, or schedule a consultation to see if clear braces are right for you, then contact our team today to learn more! We want to help you enjoy a smile that is both healthy, balanced, and beautiful.
